Hands Together is a licensed, award-winning preschool and childcare program that serves children ages six weeks to four years.
Our preschool is designed to meet the academic and social needs of the predominantly Latinx community in Santa Ana, and our goal is to prepare every student for successful entry into kindergarten.
We have five classrooms and 15 teachers. 53% of teachers have been with Hands Together for six years or more.
The preschool curriculum at Hands Together emphasizes English literacy, reading, math, and readiness skills. In addition to offering high-quality preschool and day care, our team also offers health and developmental screenings.
Launched in 2007, our Morning Garden program provides single, unhoused-or-in-transition parents of preschool-aged children with workforce development opportunities and life skills training.
Morning Garden’s parent programs focus on financial literacy, interview skills, resume preparation, and GED acquisition. We also teach nutrition and low-cost meal preparation.
While the parents are in class at Morning Garden, their children attend preschool with us. Through a partnership with the Bowers Museum, many of the Morning Garden parents create handicrafts and jewelry that are sold at various celebrations and events at the Bowers Museum.
All of these components support the personal and professional development of low-income families. Our program recognizes the potential for success in all people, including parents experiencing housing insecurity.
